Intro

In a sector based on innovation (the constant search for new ways of doing things) there is no standard procedure for managing the relationship between designers and the industries and markets they serve. Instead there is a constant reinvention of the roles, and a constant renegotiation of the tasks and the relationships, characterized by the need to understand the wider commercial currents and the need to adapt to stay relevant.

 

Workshop aim

To offer insights to students, based on personal experiences, observations and an MA research thesis on one aspect of the designer/producer relationship, to equip them to develop a professional dialogue with industry, and increase their ability to win commissions and projects.
